It was written by Wendy Waldman and Jim Photoglo. Waldman urged Photoglo to compose a song about fishing. His initial reaction was to escape since he has already written a song titled Fishin’. However, he eventually trusted her, so they hit it on and adopted the music and lines of the recorded Fishin’.
The result is musically fun and foot-stomping. The basis of the track is a couple considering a nighttime fishing activity.
